Parish registers are an important source for information on births, baptisms, marriages, deaths and burials because many pre-date civil registration. Historical records may be held in the denomination archives. The Archives of Ontario has a limited collection of church . The Center collects materials that document the history of the Roman Catholic Church in New Jersey, the United States, and the world, and has materials dating from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The following is a partial list of archival collections in this area, organized chronologically or by topic, and will be added to as more.
